Up here you'd wonder what all the fuss is about. It's been a damp feeling day but very little actual rainfall, however that's not stopped the roads becoming thier usual autumnal mudfest in stretches courtesy of the local tractors.

More rain forecast tomorrow. Never heard the river roar like it has been the past 24 hours. The below video went viral, a very wide section flooded where the sea meets the river

A slow start to the day today following an impromptu and lengthy visit to the pub last night, which I think I remember ending in a very wet walk home. It’s still very wet out. I’m staying in.

High temperature was 11.8⁰C at 00:51 dropping to a low of 8.6⁰C at 12:01 and now up to 8.7⁰C, humidity is 95%, wind 1 to 7mph westerly, pressure is 986.6hPa falling slowly, it’s currently raining steadily with 13.4mm so far today and 26.4mm in the last 24 hours, and cloud cover is a very heavy 8/8. Yellow warning for rain in place today and continues into tomorrow.

Photos from yesterday, before the heavens opened.

Laughing at the folk arriving in Glasgow for COP26 referring to the current weather related disruption as ‘the consequences of climate change’.

Aye. don't tell them it's pretty much normal Glasgow weather for Oct and maybe they'll actually agree to do something solid about climate change and not just talk about it.

Wet morning up here today, but 'only' 11mm so far, with the temp sat around 10C.

Weather warnings out until Monday now down here, smashing (admittedly probably a low impact)

After a very dry few months this was to be expected tbh, looking at SEPA gauges monthly total will get close to 250mm.
Looking forward to the colder and drier weather soon

Indeed, we all have our fingers crossed. Why the conference is being held in November though beats me, I know the Police for example are strongly discouraged from running the engine of their vehicles so might get a bit chilly.

Diesel generators being used to power the electric Jag I-pace vehicles at Gleneagles after 2 years of planning for this…

Well, wasn't expecting a thunderstorm this late in the year, but managed to get at least two forked lightning bolts in the last hour or so.

Lashing rain since 10:30am, generally light winds and a max of 12c in the morning, noticeably cooler now at 8c.

Similar here without the thunder. Went from 12C at lunchtime down to 7C at teatime which has not changed much since. The rain has now stopped and a few stars are visible between the clouds.

I was beginning to wonder whether I’d ever see blue sky again.

Temperature high was 10.1⁰C at 11:49 up from a low of 7.3⁰C at midnight and now 9.7⁰C, humidity is 87%, wind is 2 to 7mph southwesterly, pressure 987.3hPa rising slowly, there’s been 11.0mm of rain early this morning and 25.4mm in the last 24 hours, and cloud cover is 3/8. Hurrah!

Steady rain this morning died out at lunchtime. Sunny intervals since with a fresh breeze and nearby showers though none hit us here. Currently mostly clear at 7C. A good aurora expected tonight I believe.

Yesterday's walk discovered a Tweed just about managing to stay within its banks:

And after an overnight low of 3.0C it's hammering down in a gusty wind once again. Staying in.

This morning has been our wettest spell of the last week. Windiest too so the temperature of 10.2C is pretty irrelevant. Skies were very clear earlier in the night with no wind so quite a contrast. Min was 3.3C before the cloud moved in.

Indeed, now lashing rain once again. Accompanied by pretty gusty winds and a current temp of 8.1c.  Lovely weather to be chaperoning the kids on their Halloween Sugar Hunt

There were occasional breaks in the cloud to let some sunshine through but none that lasted long enough to dry up the rain that had fallen, leaving a generally damp feeling day.

High temperature for the day was 10.7⁰C at 13:18 and the low was 3.8⁰C at 20:18 with 4.8⁰C currently, humidity is 94%, wind varied between 0 and 11mph southerly, pressure is 974.2hPa steady, there was 3.0mm of rainfall today and in the last 24 hours and cloud cover varied between 5/8 and 8/8.

October highs were temperature 16.7⁰C, humidity 96%, wind 20mph, pressure 1030.1hPa and rainfall for the month was 238.4mm. October lows were temperature -1.3⁰C, humidity 60% and pressure 973.8hPa.
