The GFS looks like this today, it's not going to stay sunny in the west at least.

I saw a post in the model thread suggesting we were in for a drenching over the next couple of weeks in Glasgow. About 80-100mm in a fortnight.

Bit of a rubbish day today, but nothing to do with the weather, which was fine. Spent the morning mainly coughing up sludge from my lungs and the afternoon catching my breath from the morning’s exertions. No appetite, sats rubbish, and feeling very tired and shivery, but I didn’t realise how unwell I was feeling until I heard myself on the phone turning down an evening  at the pub. However, a couple of hours in the west wing listening to the marvellous Simon Mayo on the wireless doing his Friday thang and downing a few beers in front of the fire has perked me up.

Temperature got up to 12.1⁰C at 15:10 dropping to 5.8⁰C now, humidity is 91%, wind stayed mainly light, pressure is up to 1019.2hPa and still rising, no further rain and cloud cover remained around 5/8 until sunset.

It's a lot later in the month than usual, but finally the weather alarm has pinged to indicate that we have the first subzero temperature this autumn...

Temperature currently 12.8c, overnight low was -0.6c, daytime high of 12.9c and it’s hovered between that and 11.4 since around midday. Wind has been getting up and predominantly coming from a north westerly direction, I suspect the trees may shed some leaves by daylight.

It was a pleasant day for walking the dogs, not that I went far as three are a bit too much to handle on my own, especially when they all choose to go in different directions.

Well, I wouldn’t really call that a yellow warning event. Half an inch of rain? I think we must have been on the margins.

Highest temperature today so far was 14.2⁰C at 11:00 up from a low of 11.4⁰C at 00:45 and now 13.4⁰C, humidity is 84%, wind 1 to 15mph south-southwesterly, pressure is 1005.3hPa steady, there’s been 11.2mm of rain since midnight and 14.2mm in the last 24 hours, cloud cover is 4/8 with clouds mostly to the north and clear sky mostly to the south.

Getting closer to the more exciting time of the year. Late spring/Summer is always fantastic but my enthusiasm for the usual mild cloudy August - October period in Western Scotland is limited.

Going to get very wet down here by the end of play on Wednesday, yellow warning already out (the second in under a week)

Cloudy, windy and dry for now though there was a little light rain earlier. A ridiculous 15C  for this time in the evening in late October.

15c here at the moment as well - and the warmest it has been all day!

That temperature trend well shown at this nearby weather station...

Very wet morning, the rain stopping around 1pm to leave a cloudy afternoon with the temperature noticeably increasing as the afternoon wore on.

Moderate SW winds.
