Apart from brief dusting on Scottish Cairngorms its been a late start to the mountain snow season.. I think..

Reports today of longest surviving snow patch in Cairngorms has melted..seems very late..

Welcome reports of situation in terms of snow on our mountains.

Here in the Lake District diddly squat so far not even any snow showers..normally had something by now.

November in an average year brings snow cover down to about 400m.. sometimes as low as 200m..

Yes, I read that this morning, I’m sure in couple of weeks it’ll be freshly replaced ❄️

Dubbed the Sphinx, the snow on a remote Scottish mountain has in the past survived for decades at a time.

Even more surprising after a very cool spring and average summer at best.

Actually i just remembered after a trip to Stornoway a few weeks ago they said they had had a fantastic summer, yes whilst the south has garbage the north has great weather, and vice versa. Also after a glimse of a cold blast in October it is back to mild once again, not only daytime but i think we seem to have lost cold nights.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
