Not only is such a strong thunderstorm in Aswan that produces heavy and pretty large hail incredibly rare the flash flooding lead to hundreds of people being stung by scorpions (3 deaths). Aswan in one of the driest and sunniest places in the world, annual rainfall is only around 1mm and often several year pass without any precip at all.
