In other words WINTER IS OVER NOTHING TO SEE HERE MOVE ALONG.

Winters been ‘over’ for quite a few years now sadly with the warming climate!

Best to explore colder countries nowadays in the winter for some winter activities!

Saturday 4 Feb - Monday 13 Feb

Saturday is likely to be mostly cloudy, with some patchy rain and drizzle, especially for western upslopes. Some clear and sunny spells are possible to start, followed by a band of rain, locally heavy, approaching the southeast. Winds generally moderate, but locally strong in the north. Further into the period, more unsettled conditions are likely in the north and northwest, where longer spells of rain and strong winds are expected. The south is likely to see some drier spells, although some light rain or drizzle remain possible. Some overnight fog patches are possible in the south under clear skies. Winds varying from strong in the northwest to light in the southeast. Temperatures near normal or mild.

Tuesday 14 Feb - Tuesday 28 Feb

This period is likely to be characterised by a continuation of changeable weather, with unsettled conditions more likely in the north. A longer spell of widely unsettled conditions is possible, bringing spells of wet and windy weather for all areas, with the wettest conditions remaining focused in the west. Temperatures generally around or slightly above average.

Shhhhh!! Anyone seen the last line of next weeks forecast from the Met....😁

Sunday is likely to be a widely fine day, with long sunny spells across all areas, with residual showers in the far north clearing through the morning, and with cloud and light rain in the south also clearing. Cloudier conditions may begin to develop in the far west later. Strong winds in the north at first but easing through the day. Further into the period the conditions are expected to remain settled for many at first, with the most of any wet weather likely in the far northwest. Temperatures most likely around average for most. Later, the most likely scenario is for wetter, windier and milder weather to move in from the west, however there is a small chance of easterly winds developing bringing colder weather and some snow showers.

Reference to easterly winds and colder weather snow showers, wasn't expecting that, albeit small chance, but its a dangling carrot, might be there tomorrow or not.

Monday 6 Feb - Wednesday 15 Feb

Mostly fine with sunny spells on Monday, although cloudier in the northwest with some rain. Light or moderate winds for most, becoming stronger in the northwest, with a risk of coastal gales. From Tuesday, high pressure tends to dominate, with any frontal systems most active in the northwest, but quickly weakening as they stagger southeast across the UK. For many, there should be plenty of mostly dry if rather cold weather, likely lasting a few days, with overnight frost and perhaps some fog patches in the south and a small chance of very cold conditions and snow showers moving in from the east. However, most likely is a resumption of wetter, windier and milder weather from the west after a few days of cold conditions.

Thursday 16 Feb - Thursday 2 Mar

This period is likely to be characterised by changeable weather, with unsettled and windy conditions, especially in the northwest. The best of the settled conditions in the east and southeast. Temperatures likely average or slightly milder than average, with a chance of short-lived colder spells.

Small and possibly diminishing chance of much colder conditions (possibly meaning not definitely) . Quite a chilly outlook, still not nailed down but looks like we are getting a good idea now.

And let’s not forget, we have a rapidly warming strat later in the month. A sting in winters tail is still possible. Let’s see what the EC42 thinks about that later this evening.

Easterly promise fading quite rapidly now & being kicked into touch be Exeter. Althougha 'glimmer' remains.

Not the update I was hoping for but at least they still mention the possibility.

Tuesday 7 Feb - Thursday 16 Feb

On Tuesday, remaining largely settled with good spells of sunshine is the most likely scenario. Overnight a band of cloud and rain to the north and northwest will sink southeast, easing as it progresses, with a very small chance of some patchy snow across parts of central UK. Risk of showers into northwest, possibly wintry, accompanied by strong to gale force winds. Chilly overnight, with temperatures by day generally around average. Thereafter, high pressure is expected to dominate the UK, with largely fine conditions, especially towards southeastern areas. More changeable in the northwest with periods of stronger winds and rain. Frosts possible overnight. Rather cold to average by day. There is a small and possibly diminishing chance of much colder conditions for a time across the south.

Friday 17 Feb - Friday 3 Mar

This period is likely to be characterised by changeable weather, with unsettled and windy conditions, especially in the northwest. The best of the settled conditions in the east and southeast. Temperatures likely average or slightly milder than average, with a chance of short-lived colder spells.

They have to really, imagine that the GFS was correct ( unlikely I know) and the MetO hadn't mentioned it, there would be hell to pay.

Wednesday 8 Feb - Friday 17 Feb

On Wednesday, a band of cloud and outbreaks of light rain or drizzle in central areas at first, moving northwards later. A clearer and colder day in the south, with sunny spells, however isolated fog or freezing fog here initially. Ending the week, a southeast and northwest split is predicted, with high pressure in the southeast and low in the northwest. This would likely lead to dry weather and sunny spells in the southeast, with cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle in the northwest, also a risk of coastal gales here. This pattern is predicted to continue further into the period, with dry and settled weather for many parts of the UK much of the time. Temperatures rather mild in the north but closer to average in the south.

Saturday 18 Feb - Saturday 4 Mar

During the period, generally settled weather conditions are expected across the UK. Frontal systems bringing rain and strong winds are expected in the northwest, perhaps spreading further into the southeast at times, although much of the south and southeast may stay largely dry. Temperatures overall will be above normal, with a small chance of colder conditions.

Thursday 9 Feb - Saturday 18 Feb

On Thursday, cloud and rain are expected to move southeast, with clearer conditions ahead of this in the far south at first. A mixture of clear and sunny spells, with occasional wintry showers are expected in the far north, with a chance of rain later. For the rest of the period, settled conditions are expected to continue in many places, particularly in the south. As a result, dry conditions and sunny spells are likely, with a risk of overnight fog patches in the southeast. Changeable weather conditions, with cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle are expected in north, with strong winds and a risk of gales possible in north and northwest. Temperatures overall will be rather mild in the north and northwest, but closer to average in the south.

Sunday 19 Feb - Sunday 5 Mar

During the period, generally settled weather conditions are expected across the UK. Frontal systems bringing rain and strong winds are expected in the northwest, perhaps spreading further into the southeast at times, although much of the south and southeast may stay largely dry. Friday 10 Feb - Sunday 19 Feb

On Friday, cloud and rain are expected in northern areas, accompanied by windy conditions, with a risk of coastal gales and fog overnight. Southern areas will be mainly dry and brighter with lighter wind, although some drizzle is possible at times in western areas. Into the weekend high pressure in the southeast and low pressure in the northwest will lead to a continuation of this north to south split in conditions across the UK. For the rest of the period, there will likely be a continuation of predominantly dry and settled weather across most parts of the UK, especially the south. Some rain and strong winds are likely in the northwest at times. Temperatures overall likely to be close to average.

Monday 20 Feb - Monday 6 Mar

During the period, generally settled weather conditions are expected across the UK. Frontal systems bringing rain and strong winds are expected in the northwest, perhaps spreading further into the southeast at times, although much of the south and southeast may stay largely dry. Temperatures overall will be above normal, with a small chance of colder conditions.
