However, conditions could be variable at times with an ongoing and rather active Atlantic pattern.

Friday 22 November to Sunday 1 December

Briefly fairly mild

Monday 2 December to Sunday 8 December

Monday 9 December to Sunday 22 December

Fairly unsettled and mild

Further ahead

The outlook for next Tuesday could confirm some trends in the medium and extended term. However, there should be a little more variability later in December.

BBC Monthly Outlook

Summary

Behind a deepening low pressure system, temperatures should initially drop below average. Atlantic weather systems will then bring milder air for much of this forecast period, but colder and drier interludes are still possible.

Wednesday 27 November to Sunday 1 December

Trending milder

Monday 2 December to Sunday 8 December

Ups and downs in temperature

Monday 9 December to Sunday 22 December

Unsettled and perhaps milder

Further ahead

The next outlook on Friday should provide a clearer picture for the next week and a slightly more confident trend for later. Since there will probably be greater fluctuations in temperature, further wintry spells are to be expected later in December.
