Saturday 12 Feb - Monday 21 Feb

Some showers are expected in the northwest at first on Saturday, but elsewhere it is expected to be dry and sunny after a frosty start. Rain and strengthening winds arrive to the north and northwest later, spreading to many areas by the end of the weekend. Thereafter, the unsettled conditions are expected to continue. The wettest weather is likely to be in the west and northwest, this heavy at times, whilst the south and southeast remains the driest, but even here there is likely to be rain at times. Some snow is expected over northern hills, and temperatures becoming average to mild for many areas. It is also likely to become windy for all, particularly in the north.

Tuesday 22 Feb - Tuesday 8 Mar

A north-south split is expected to continue through to the end of February and into early March. Low pressure systems are likely to impact the north of the UK, and at times these depressions could intensify and potentially lead to a threat of further storms across the north, bringing strong winds, heavy rain, and milder temperatures. These will be interspersed with colder interludes. The south is expected to be milder and drier with more settled conditions overall. Any weather fronts affecting the south are likely to be fewer and weaker than those impacting the north.

Tuesday 15 Feb - Thursday 24 Feb

Tuesday will see a drier, milder and brighter start for most, with rain, heavy at times, in the northwest, moving east and south through the morning. Wintry showers are possible in the far north of the UK, where temperatures remain rather cold. Throughout the remaining week and beyond, unsettled weather is likely to continue. Frequent showers and longer spells of rain are likely for most, with a risk of snow mainly over high ground in the north. Western hills and upslopes will likely see the heaviest rainfall, with the driest conditions likely in the southeast. Strong winds will continue with a risk of gales, especially across the north and west, with severe gales in some coastal areas at times. Temperatures generally near normal to mild.

Friday 25 Feb - Friday 11 Mar

Through the end of February, the unsettled weather is likely to continue. Lower pressure to the north and higher pressure to the south will result in westerly winds from the Atlantic. Low pressure is likely to be in charge at first however, meaning showers or longer spells of rain for many parts of the UK, but especially the north, and strong winds too. The driest conditions will probably be in the south. Heading into March, the high pressure to the south may begin to build northwards, with an increasing chance of dry conditions spreading further north, with the most unsettled conditions increasingly confined to the far north. Temperatures are most likely to be above average.

Sunday 20 Feb - Tuesday 1 Mar

During this period, the weather conditions are likely to be changeable and often unsettled across the north and northwest. For the first half of the period, bands of rain are likely to push southeastwards from the northwest with showers following. These bands of rain are heavy at times, especially over the hills in the west and northwest. Towards the end of the period, conditions are likely to remain mobile and changeable, with most unsettled conditions expected in the north and northwest. Overall temperatures are likely to be near average with slightly milder in the south and colder in the north. Winds are also possibly strong across the north, with gales likely in the north and some central areas, whereas the far south is likely to be less windy.

Wednesday 2 Mar - Wednesday 16 Mar

The weather in the first half of March is likely to be a continuation of the current changeable conditions with a north-south split, especially in precipitation. Most of the precipitation is likely to be in the north and northwest, where wintry conditions are possible in colder periods in these areas. Winds are likely to remain strong across the north and northwest, with the southern areas seeing less windy conditions. Temperatures are likely to be overall mild, with the northwest slightly closer to average.

Tuesday 1 Mar - Thursday 10 Mar

Tuesday is likely to be showery and windy in the far north at first, with gales possible. Further south, outbreaks of rain are likely to clear by midday. The very start of March could see high pressure near, although there could still be some rain at times, most likely for northern and western areas. The rest of this period is likely to see changeable conditions return, with many areas seeing a mixture of wet and dry weather as well as strong winds at times. Northern and western areas are most likely to see the heaviest rain with severe gales possible too, while the best of any dry and bright weather in the southeast. Overall, it is likely to be mild with a chance of brief colder incursions in the north.

Friday 11 Mar - Friday 25 Mar

Changeable conditions are expected to continue through the period. It is expected to be wetter than average overall, most notable in upslope areas of the north and west however, it is expected to slowly become drier through the end of the period. Remaining windy in early March, especially in the northwest, but slowly becoming calmer towards late March. Temperatures are likely to remain mild, perhaps near average in the northwest with brief colder spells.

Wednesday 2 Mar - Friday 11 Mar

Wednesday is expected to be dry and sunny for many with light winds, after a cold and frosty start. However, the far south could be cloudier with some rain. The weather will then remain mostly settled to finish the working week. Despite this, it won't be completely dry, with some rain expected in the north and west, this tending to become lighter as it moves southeast. Into the weekend and the following week, there is likely to be a northwest-southeast split in weather conditions. The southeast is most likely to be dry and settled for the longest, with the northwest most likely to see the wind and rain. Temperatures are expected to be around or just above average for many places.

Saturday 12 Mar - Saturday 26 Mar

A continuation of the northwest-southeast split in weather conditions is likely. High pressure is most likely to affect southern parts, and as a result the weather will be more settled and drier here. The northwest is at the greatest risk of unsettled spells. It will probably be drier than normal for all however, although upslope areas of the north and west are likely to see more in the way of rain. It will be windy at times in the northwest, where the risk of windstorms is highest. Winds will generally be lighter further south. It is likely to remain mild, although still with the risk of brief colder spells.

Friday 4 Mar - Sunday 13 Mar

This period starts with some cloud, drizzle, or rain in places through Friday morning. Dryer and brighter weather set to then develop through the day with some sunny spells seen in places. Winds looking to initially be light to moderate with around average temperatures as we move into the weekend. For the following week, there is likely to be a northwest-southeast split in weather conditions. The southeast is most likely to be dry and settled for the longest, with the northwest most likely to see the wind and rain. Overall however, conditions likely to remain relatively benign when compared to recent weeks and most areas will see a mixture of conditions to some degree. Temperatures are expected to be around or just above average for many.

Monday 14 Mar - Monday 28 Mar

A continuation of the northwest-southeast split in weather conditions is likely. High pressure is most likely to affect southern parts, and as a result the weather will be more settled and drier here. The northwest is at the greatest risk of unsettled spells. It will probably be drier than normal for all however, although upslope areas of the north and west are likely to see more in the way of rain. It will be windy at times in the northwest, where the risk of windstorms is highest. Winds will be generally lighter further south. It is likely to remain mild, although still with the risk of brief colder spells.

Sunday 6 Mar - Tuesday 15 Mar

Sunday will be a dry day for many areas, though cloudier with patchy rain in the south and west. A few wintry showers are likely in the east. It will be colder for most with brisk winds. For the following week it will likely be initially, largely dry with some wintry showers possible, as we move through the period there will be an increasing likelihood of spells of rain, potentially preceded by snow, arriving from the west. Winds will likely strengthen through midweek with an increasing likelihood of coastal gales. Rather cool or even cold across much of the UK, but temperatures may begin to recover to nearer normal from the west later in the period.

Wednesday 16 Mar - Wednesday 30 Mar

Likely another period of unsettled weather developing with Atlantic weather systems expected to move across the UK bringing spells of wet and windy weather interspersed by brief drier and brighter interludes. At times, winds could be disruptive, although snow is likely to become shorter-lived through the second half of the month. Towards the end of the month a north-south split may develop with high pressure across the south with more changeable conditions likely in the north. Temperatures are expected to trend above average, although some brief colder interludes are still expected.

Wednesday 9 Mar - Friday 18 Mar

Sunny spells with some cloud for most at first during this period, with generally stronger winds than previous days and the ongoing risk of gales in the far west and northwest. Temperatures looking to be rather below normal and perhaps feeling cooler in the wind. Through the period, frontal systems push eastwards which are likely to bring strengthening winds in addition to potential snowfall. The main impacts are likely to be from heavy rain and gales during this time. Nearer to the end of this period, there is looking to be a transition from these rather cold conditions to near normal and milder conditions. This is likely to include clearer weather with showers across all areas.

Saturday 19 Mar - Saturday 2 Apr

Some uncertainty heading into this period, with southerly airflow bringing locally heavy rain, and at times windy weather across the UK. This is perhaps interspersed with brighter and showery conditions. Temperatures are likely to be rather mild for most.

Thursday 10 Mar - Saturday 19 Mar

A windy start to this period for many, especially in the north and west with some coastal gales. Outbreaks of rain are likely for some western areas, becoming persistent and heaviest over south facing hills; generally drier in the east with variable cloud and some sunshine, though some rain is possible here too. Temperatures are expected to be mostly near normal to rather mild. Through the rest of the period, frontal systems push eastwards which are likely to bring strengthening winds and rain, with a chance of some snowfall. The main impacts are likely to be from heavy rain and gales during this time. Clearer weather, with showers, may reach all areas by the end of this period.

Sunday 20 Mar - Sunday 3 Apr

Some uncertainty heading into this period, with a predominantly southerly airflow bringing locally heavy rain, and at times windy weather across the UK. This is perhaps interspersed with brighter and showery conditions. Temperatures are likely to be rather mild for most.

Saturday 12 Mar - Monday 21 Mar

Largely cloudy and mild but breezy on Saturday with outbreaks of rain. The best of any sunshine is expected across the north and northeast. At the start of the next week outbreaks of rain are possible across all areas with the heavier rain towards the west. The east should see the best of any dry weather although showers are likely at times. Windy at times with a risk of gales in the west. Temperatures are expected to be mostly near normal to rather mild. Through the rest of the period, frontal systems push eastwards which are likely to bring strengthening winds and rain. Sunday 13 Mar - Tuesday 22 Mar

On Sunday a band of rain is likely to erratically move from the southwest towards the northeast. Through the start of the next week a southerly flow will likely result in a period of more unsettled conditions with showers. The most persistent rain is expected across the south initially then across the northwest later. Temperatures are expected to be near average to mild, slightly below average in the east at times. Through the rest of the period a northwest/southeast split is expected with lower pressure, rain and strong winds across the north. Whilst the south will see the best of any settled conditions and the best of the sunshine. Strongest winds and heaviest rain will most likely be in northwest. Temperatures are expected to be mild or locally very mild.

Wednesday 23 Mar - Wednesday 6 Apr

Some uncertainty heading into this period, with higher pressure to start which is expected to recede southwards leading to lower pressure in the north. A predominantly southerly airflow is expected and is likely to lead to wet and windy weather interspersed with brighter and showery conditions. Temperatures are likely to remain rather mild for most, although short periods of colder conditions are still possible.

Thursday 24 Mar - Saturday 2 Apr

At the outset of this period dry and settled conditions are likely to dominate, with prolonged clear and sunny spells, but with some rain and cloud at times in the far north / northwest. Low cloud or fog on northeast coasts spreading inland in the early morning, and then burning back to the coast during the day. Generally feeling warm or very warm with light winds, temperatures closer to normal on North Sea coasts. These dry and settled conditions continue into the rest of the period, especially for the south, with overnight frost and fog possible. It could be windy at times in the north and any showers or prolonged spells of rain are most likely for the far north and northwest. Temperatures are likely above average, locally feeling warm.

Sunday 3 Apr - Sunday 17 Apr

Turning more unsettled during early April, with showers or longer periods of rain. These showers are likely to be heavy at times, with hail and thunder. Drier and more settled spells are still possible but are likely to be more short-lived. Temperatures are most likely to be near average, or perhaps slightly below at times.
