Very calm out at the mo!!

centre Parcs have just cancelled our weekend hol

I hear ya! I reckon an hour or so of 65mph winds around Bham city centre is where we’ll peak, same for walsall. But 3-4 hours of 60 is fairly likely now. Keep in and stay safe!

As mentioned, sting jet scenario

the peak of these damaging winds looks like around lunchtime for populated areas, this area I’ve circled in red could be the worst (80 mph maybe more)

stay safe all

Let’s hope it’s all a false alarm.

still quiet here, cloudbase at 2,000 feet moving smartly but about 18-20 mph at ground level.  Wind still sou-westerly.

Blue skies here now. Wind now WSW (not yet the predicted southerly), wind now down to about 10kts with the odd 20kt gusts.

Unless I’m missing something ( very likely!), Eunice has taken the M4 to the East.  Wind now westerly. Glass now 962.

No sign of any travelling wheelie bins yet.

Easing off here, had 38 kts, sun trying to come out.  Still WSW, gauge had dropped to 960.

So far, just another blowy day.

pretty breezy in brum, although as it stands, perhaps not quite as bad as feared!

Calm day here in Alton Staffs moorlands, cant see us getting any effects of this storm based on our position lol a non starter here.

We’re near the centre of the low at the moment. Winds should pick up this afternoon as it moves away eastwards.

Still seeing the risk of some snow tomorrow.

Definitely the north south divide in the reaction to this storm. Arwen was way worse for us here and we got on with it with no red warning and 2 days without power and water! Damaged fence down south and its the storm of the century.

still calm and bright here.

Lo  yep i saw some of those posts.  It may get worse  but at the moment  quite a reaction from some with 50mph winds    Anything approaching 70mph  then thats when it becomes severe

Just had gusts of 52 and 54 kts, wind now from the south, think we’re seeing the worst of it.

Will be with the rest of the region shortly!

… and relax. That’s it.  Wind now WSW again, sun trying to come out.

No worse than Storm Dudley.
