After such a dire winter at least there is no sign of any warm spells thankfully, hopefully mother nature will supply a lovely cool spring!

*Praying for 7 months of 20+ degrees temperatures*

Shame it looks like turning colder next week - this seems to be the norm the last few years - winter arrives in march.

Hit 11/6 (falling Vs lying) for snow today. First April snow since 2012 too I think.

Well just two days With snow falling in the past 5 months. Neither of them in meteorological winter.

Tail end of Storm Arwen on 27th Nov and 31st March. Both flurries rather than anything else and certainly not settling but hey that's winter on the south coast of Dorset for you when it's crap it really is crap.

This is fast becoming my least favourite winter in my lifetime, it's got so little going for it. We haven't had the amounts of sunshine some places have had though. Most days are just grey and dry, a little cold at times if we've been good boys and girls. No variety whatsoever. Then you look at the models and lose that last bit of hope you didn't even know you had. The jet stream pattern is killing us, we can't even get a direct northerly going! And even in fantasy island it can't seem to conjure up a route to cold, however implausible, which confirms beyond doubt that nothing remotely interesting is going to happen from this point.

Not something I thought I'd ever say, but bring on spring now. Model watching this year has been the most joyless of past-times.

Hi just wondering if you are Gavin Partridge from gavs weather vids on YouTube?

Actually no, I closed the site last year so I'm YouTube exclusive now.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
