Not expecting a cold January but certainly not ruling out cold conditions at times. Could be a very topsy turvy month flips from mild to cold, northern parts may see more lengthier slightly below average temps at times. Chance later in the month for cold and settled weather.

Last January brought our first genuinely cold January since 2010 and I enjoyed it alot. I'll go with 4.9 degrees. Nothing special.

I'm thinking a very changeable January with regular cold interludes but probably no deep freeze. Wet and unsettled, a very typical January. 4.8C; 110mm
