Quite enjoying the wild differences depending on what model you look at for tomorrow afternoon down in central southern...
GFS = couple of cm slow fluries
ECMWF = Dry
Icon / Aperge = Rain

So who on Earth knows! Ha.

I'll take a stab at that, the further south it comes the clearer the precipitation..

Not sure whether we have a chance tomorrow or Wednesday… doubtful! For us in the very far south might be the best chance we have all winter

Best or ONLY!

I do think the southern regions sometimes get some surprise coverings with these chances, just hope it gets cold enough

Temp dropped from 2.6c to 1.0c in the last 30 minutes, if we had any precip id think it would be snow now.

Yes it’s dropping quickly here too, from 6.2c to 3.4c in less than half an hour. Might not sound great but it’s more wintry than anything in nearly 2 weeks!

Morning all, hope you all had a good Christmas. It's heavy sleet here in the Cheddar valley, I expect it's snow on top of the Mendips but I have absolutely no intention of leaving my warm house to find out. Work can wait for another day, pruning a massive Wisteria over the top of a 70mtr pergola holds zero appeal in this weather.

Never trust hi-res GFS precipitation modelling. Snow forecast on every run until T+0:

Such Strange event happening right now .

on the radar it’s showing precipitation moving west to east.

yet the wind is blowing east to west and all of the clouds are also moving east to west so how come the precipitation is moving west to east very strange

The upper-wind is the steering mechanism.

Surface winds will be different..

Those differences are indicated as shear on the LLS chart below

After a low of 2.9°C at: 11:18, things have warmed up to 3.8°C, even some blurry sunshine...
