As there isn't much about the weather on the ground during the great Winter of 62/63 in and around Merseyside, I thought I'd do some digging of my own.

Yes, thanks for this Nordic Freeze. I was in S London at the time and we had massive problems of our own, despite living about 10 miles from the centre of London. I wonder whether anywhere in the UK escaped the harsh conditions of that winter. I would love to know.

Really interesting to see this. My Mum would have been 13/14 at the time (the age my son is now) so I’ll have to ask her if she enjoyed it .  Wonder if we will ever see anything like it here again

Would be fantastic to see it again. The last time we had ice floes on the Mersey where 82 (pretty bad) & 87, I remember 87, however it wasn't anywhere near as extreme as 63 so never say never. I'll do further posts once I gather enough to go off.
