Thanks for these Nordic Freeze. The photos taken on the Fylde coast suggest the snowfall there was on a par with Feb 1996 although, not living on the Fylde in 1981/82, I cannot confirm this.

I’d forgot how severe that winter was, probably because it was getting pretty normal in the late 70’s/early 80’s to have lengthy snowy and cold spells in winter.

I don’t think the snow here reached the sort of levels that Wales had but early 82 saw a succession of heavy falls and conditions were up there with 1979 at times.

Would like to see photos from Jan 84 Scotland and Cumbria. A month rarely mentioned but brought trifle amounts to those parts.. probably be cause places little population affected.
