I thought this may be of interest to the forum.  You can zoom in and see lightning density information for the last 6 years down to county level in UK and district level in places like the US.

Thanks for the interesting map...

Of interest is that it shows Milton Keynes as the lightening center for the UK.

Also of interest is the increased chances around  the inhabited centers of Birmingham (West Mids), and around South Yorkshire (Leeds,etc).

Of course we all know about East Anglia!!.
