No much change between WRF 12z and 00z today for the squall development.

The convergence is quite evident from the models.

Nature's pay back for a very settled January with the UK resident limpet "high" .. it really was just a matter of time, once the high relinquished its grip, given the very active PV , the north Atlantic freight train Jet Stream would "do its thing" , quite a busy period with Dudley, Eunice and Franklin ,  a little like the old adage of the London Bus Service ... bugger all for ages then suddenly 3 in a row

Still without power so for this to come through and stop recovery, I'm starting to wonder whether my power will ever come back lol

No, I was referring to the convergence of winds at low levels, basically where you can see two different wind streams merging together along a line. Like this:

Moderate rain since 3am producing 7.6 mm so far today. Nothing unusual wind-wise yet, around 15 mph and gusting to around 35 mph.

Anyone with any measured and rational suggestions why Met Office havent issued amber for some areas appart from NI? Some charts showing 81mph here, although we get that a few times a year here they usually get an amber. I dont want to get into the whole South bias vs North debate but its getting hard to explain

I see people not taking this storm seriously despite the wind gusts being stronger than what I usually see already just as they were storm Eunice, some people don't have a respect for mother nature despite the impacts.

I think this is the point that should be emphasized for some areas by the general media. Since we already had strong storms in the recent past, something is bound to have been weakened by them. You can read that in some warning descriptions, but it is not publicised at large.

Tomorrow looks like an absolute write-off for going out, Met has us being at 40-50mph gusts all day, sometimes even reaching closer to 60mph.

What, since Friday. Thats a long time mate. Hope you are managing ok. Must be particular issue down in Kent although i.know it takes a while for power to be returned in some areas. As you say not really the best weather going forward to allow that to happen effectively. Stay safe...

Why? It should be dry. Exhilarating to be out in dry windy conditions.

Your wind and rain will be associated with the approach of Franklin's cold front, and associated squall line , this appears to have passed east over you now ,  and a temporary "easing off" of the wind and rain.  Winds will  kick in again , as Franklin approaches the Nw tip of Scotland tater , with isobars squeezing up significantly on the S/SW flank

Looks like we may have a busy afternoon and evening with people’s accounts as the squall line goes through. The rainfall radar should be quite interesting following it’s progress SE eastwards across the country.

Saying that it won't be fixed till Tuesday now, so I'll be on my mobile data and charging appliances round my grandparents. Yet my friend got hers fixed just 8 or so hours after it went out and she lives just 5 minutes away, frustrating

The Squall line appears to have fragmented somewhat , much more pronounced earlier , NE England getting a pounding
