Will likely see a slight drop next couple of days due to cold minima mainly thereafter a more marked upward trend, probably sitting 9-10 mark by Easter. No clear signal how second half will pan out.

First look at EWP, now around 20 mm, rather dry pattern ahead promises only about 10 mm in first ten days, possibly another 10 mm days 11-16, which would bring the total to around 40 mm with a week left to go. I would agree with damianslaw on CET projection, getting up towards 9 C by Easter weekend then maybe falling back slightly thereafter? But hard to say at this point.

Probably a marked drop tomorrow figure given how cold last night was, or is this factored in todays figures, assume today's are for last 24 hours pre this morning..

The next few days likely too see more big jumps before the slight cool down from Monday which will slow things down a bit but the pressure will still be upwards. Should be a top ten finish unlikely to be the warmest April on record though,

Mid month stage and sitting about average at this point. Should see an upward turn possibly marked over the weekend but was expecting to be in the 9s now.. not sure at all how second half of the month will pan out. Not foreseeing any notable warmth or cold at this range.

EWP update :  27 mm to date, around 10 mm predicted over next ten days on GFS, and perhaps another 10-15 mm near end of month. Outcome would be in the range of 47 to 52 mm. CET likely to end up in low to mid 8 range from GFS guidance, it rises to near 9 C then somewhat cooler again in easterly flow, nothing too drastic but more likely to go down than up from the 9 C peak expected around Monday.

Since we're at the halfway point now, you usually get a feel as to  roughly where you may end up. Currenty thinking 8s or low 9s at the moment, particularly the former if any downward adjustments were to occur. Last time April came in the 8s was 2017 and before then, 2010. Despite the long term average for April being in the 8s, it hasn't been popular in recent times.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
