Cold dry with patchy cloud. Light winds

Dry with sunny spells and patchy cloud, white frost on most roofs but temperature now up to 1.1 C from a low of -0.2 C giving an air frost in the early hours

A short but quite heavy snow shower yesterday evening at 1900-1915 g.m.t gave a covering of 1cm which lasted for the rest of the night and into this morning. The rest of the night was dry apart from a few flakes of snow during the early hours and since dawn it's been dry with a few sunny intervals.

At 0800 g.m.t

Temp; 1.9c

24 hr max; 7.3c

24 hr min; -0.6c

Grass ( snow ) min; -3.6c

Rainfall in 24 hrs ending 0800 g.m.t; 0.5 mm

 Mean wind speed; 4 mph N

Mean depth of lying snow; 1.0cm. 90% cover

Cold frosty start ratehr cold morning with sunny spells now some light wintry showers. Walk round Longshaw a narrow band of lying snow fromm yesterdays showers melting rapidly but still in the shade when I left.

Max temp so far 7.7C now 6.3C, Barometer 1021mb steady, Wind F1 ENE, Rainfall trace

I was thinking I was going to get this snow shower I observed moving from the north, but it missed my location by perhaps a mile or so to the west.

A dry day with sunny intervals. Numerous showers in the local area but all of them missed here, sometimes by less than a mile.
