Named by MeteoFrance for Friday 8th April, looks to bring heavy rain to the Channel Islands and possibly affect (rather than impact) southern England.  For France, wind and rain, snow in the north and ice.

Different view from Met Eireann at the start of Friday of Storm Diego which brushed past southern England, and brought a miserable Friday morning to the Channel Islands, very wet for France with sleet and mountain snow. It heads off towards the Alps for Saturday before high pressure builds. But now named is the next Storm in the SW group, Evelyn. By IPMA the Portuguese met service and this one will impact Ireland and the UK more with wet and windy weather but shifting the cold, Arctic airflow.

"The Azores Regional Delegation of the IPMA assigned the name EVELYN to a depression. This depression has an associated frontal system that will begin to be felt in mainland Portugal at the end of the 10th, Sunday, with periods of rain in the regions of the west coast, which will progressively extend to the interior of the country, becoming a regime of showers. on the 11th, with accumulated values of around 60 mm in 24 hours" IPMA

Windy, colder, larger waves around the coast.

It was named on 7th April for the wind strength over the Azores out in the Atlantic, up to 75mph gusts for the western islands and very large waves. Heavy rain and thunderstorms too.
