Nice one, just had a peek outside, but nothing to report here, but I am on the south coast so not that surprising really

Still waiting for a repeat of 2019 on the solstice, I might have to wait a couple of weeks to get anything close to that event

Current view to the northwest, nothing to see here

What time would you expect to see something. if we were in with a chance?

Even without NLCs that is a smashing pic.  With clear skies and a view like that, I'd be tempted to sit it out all night, just in case they put a pre-dawn appearance in.

Pretty unreadable atm.... to much fluctuation in the charts

anything could be over us

the massive expansion from yesterday is encouraging though

No sighting from near Europe

i would stop at your venue.... just in case

Kept an eye out from about 3.15am, didn't  see anything although the skies were beautifully clear.  Still took photos to see if phone cam picked anything up.  Stunning sunrise.

Yeah, was looking at these earlier, is it just luck or are NLCs more prevalent in the early morning hours?

I'm more of a night owl, getting up early is not my cup of tea

All the NLCs I've seen apart from once have been in the early hours.

Too tired to look last night, but I did have a gut feeling....

Not sure when there will be clear skies again.

Fingers crossed we do get some evening displays, and if not, I will probably brave the early hours, once we start approaching the latter part of NLC season, but fingers crossed I won't have to

Either way, last night was a very pleasant evening, with clear skies and hardly a breath of wind

And I did manage to get some practice in for any future events, I'm determined to get a capture a time lapse of NLCs before the season is over

Ok, well this is what we got... not exactly NLC, but could have been just beyond our viewing location/time ... that light band was constant, so i think is likely to be further away than the pollution at lower levels which changed as the air flowed... i tried zooming in, but even that couldnt reveal and nlc like structure. Pre-clouds?...  10.20 - 11.10.

Useful link I've found when scouring, set it for here but you can choose wherever.

Gives you a good idea of elevation of NLCs and time indication.

Great catch ..and 20mins after my last shot of the night

did the guy release any more details of his images i.e. filters, processing? ( I don't do Twitter so I'm being cheeky )

A long and tiring night .. but loving the enthusiasm and effort in the forum

Nothing visible with the naked eye,  but through the lens and a light pollution filter ( and a ton of other post processing gadgets, non of which I understand)

taken at 02.36 Capella is at < 10 °

DAISY has some NLCs breaking out by the looks, might be the source of this morning's display.

Looks like theres nowt on display until that bulge get to midday/night Sunday?
Anyway, the skies are unlikely to be clear enough except for Scotland.

one encouraging sign for the last 2 published Aims is constant growth.... as opposed to a big growth of clouds only to disappear on the next run.

This could be in relation to the slight calming of the Sun over the last 4/5 days, in which case, we will see more constant growth over the next couple of days and not the fluctuation we have been seeing

looks like we`ll be clouded out

I've never seen a hole in the NCL map, maybe it's an error.

The yellow arrow is massive, longer than the UK, not sure what caused that.
