June tomorrow! Possibly the best time of the year I feel the transition from May into June. Summer ahead of us, everything very fresh and growing still. Long days and nights ahead.

Quite, just hope we don't get an 'extra' long summer this year!  Oh dear, I've started it already!

6 more weeks and we’ll be slowly but surely on the descent again. Usually start to notice it by the time my birthday comes around in mid July.

Very early days I know, but I don't have much hopes for this summer.

I can see August being the best month out of the three, but on the whole I imagine it will be a fairly bog standard summer with the odd very warm to hot day scattered around here and there, along with somewhat inadequate sunshine levels as well as perhaps an isolated thunderstorm or two. So kind of like last year's summer really.

Still, you never know!

I have a feeling that this August will be roasting hot. Possibly into September too.

September will be hot - you can bank on it.

The nice weather always arrives too little too late, usually after the kids have just returned to school.

I remember one year where the June and July had been pretty decent (there was a heatwave in July this year, can't remember which year it was though) and then literally on the Friday night that the school broke up it poured down, and then it pretty much stayed poor the whole way through August, bar the odd cooler few days with a direct northerly flow.

Going by the Netweather forecast it's looking like a fairly typical summer here in NW England - getting worse as it progresses!

We’re looooong overdue a hot August. A 1995 style one would be delightful

I agree, it's not the hot August I don't want (as long as it's not too humid), it's the later!

I have fond memories of August 1995.

That sounds like 2014, which it was similar to 2013, with a hot July, although not as hot, and a hot or very warm June. Especially during the World Cup period.

We had some severe overnight storms sometime in the middle of July, but August was poor.

Sounds a bit like 2014, although the cr*p really didn’t set in until August 9th/10th... ex hurricane Bertha followed by frequent Nerlies and NWerlies.

Summer returned in September, which was warmer than August!

Thanks for the foercast. Any reason why you've mixed up the long term averages switching between 1981 to 2010  and 1991 - 2020 ideally you should be using one.
