Table of forecasts for July 2022

Number in italics after forecaster name is order of entry. You can continue to enter the contest with late penalties assessed to the end of Sunday, 3rd of July. If the normal CET values look unfamiliar, they are v2.0 averages, both mentioned are 0.1 higher in the CET legacy data set (16.9, 16.7).

______________________________________________

All values in this table are from legacy CET, have not had time to update them to v2.0 ... but end of July 2006 is 19.8 in v2.0, so most of the other values above it could be 0.1 higher as well. Values from 1976 are generally 0.1 lower now than in legacy. The new records can be found in the thread about the change from legacy to v2.0, which is now around page 3 of the thread menu. Most of the records are fairly similar and only a few have changed years. The absolute high now is 25.3 from 2019 and the reading in 1948 is now 25.1.

1981-2010 CET mean is now 16.6 (v2.0) rather than 16.7 (CET legacy) so I would imagine many of the running CET values quoted are now 0.1 lower as well.

1991-2020 averages are slightly higher, the mean is now 16.8 (it was 16.9 in legacy).

Last year's warmest day (in CET legacy) was 22.2 on 22nd. Not quite a daily record. ...

With no updates on CET, I had a look at max and min for the three locations (have to estimate Stonyhurst but the other two are available on meteociel) and this is where we are, approximately, through today ...

Location _____ Max, Min, Mean 1st ____ 2nd _____ 3rd _____ CET to date

Pershore _____20.8, 8.1, 14.5 ____19.1,11.7,15.4 ___20.8, 7.4,14.1 ___

Rothamsted __18.4, 8.3, 13.4 ____20.5, 9.9, 15.2 ___ 20.7, 9.4,15.1 ___

Stonyhurst ___17.0,10.0,13.5 ____19.0,12.0,15.5 ___18.0, 9.5,14.8 ___

 _ average ____18.7, 8.8,13.8 ____19.5,11.1,15.3 ___ 19.8, 9.4,14.6 ___

running CET __ 18.7, 8.8, 13.8 __ 19.1,10.0,14.6 ___ 19.3, 9.8,14.6

(I did not apply any 0.2 adjustment for u.h.i. so if you include that, 14.4 to 3rd)

Way too late, been rather pre-occupied with visiting friends within in my close friendship circle and them having the big C.  One lost, another imminently (that’s 7 in last 12 months).

Looks a potentially hot and dry month, certainly the 1st half, and with this kind of set up it could perpetuate .

Good luck, catch you all after summer.

Estimate the 4th at around 15.0 (from 19.5, 10.5) so the running CET would be around 14.6.

The 5th may be around 14.5 also, a warmer max (20.5) but the min will be quite low as Pershore shows a minimum of 5.7 earlier today (Tuesday 5th).

So if there's no update tomorrow figure on the average being around 14.6.

These are rough estimates as I mentioned two of the three locations used are available but not the cooler northern one (Stonyhurst). I have to estimate that from various stations at a distance in somewhat different climate zones.

Interestingly, the Netweather temperature tracker is currently at 15.77C and Hadley 14.9C which are the same CET figures they had for June overall.
