On latest guidance, very hot next weekend, so now going 41.2 at Heathrow, possibly equalled in Berks and parts of London and Kent on Sunday 17th. These things sometimes speed up so I am going Sunday rather than Monday which has higher numerical output guidance at present time. This has extreme parameters (582 dm thickness rarely seen in western Europe) and reminds me of the heat dome we had here in BC (Canada) last year, the result of that was new record highs that were 4-5 C deg above long-term values, for example it was 44 C here (at a considerable elevation) where the highest previous value was 39 C from 1941.

Interesting punt - GFS keeps showing very high temperatures within a handful of miles of the coast which seems wrong to me.
