A beautiful sunny morning here with clear skies and a light wind with a current temp of 23.4c.

The met office has a max temp of 24c here for today but as my back garden is a concrete slabbed sun trap i feel it may get a bit warmer than forecast.

As already noted the thick high level cloud put a plug on the rising temperatures. A few breaks in the afternoon allowed some surges in the temperature however cooler than it probably would have been

Max temp so far 29C, now 28.5C, Barometer 1020mb falling slowly, Wind F2 SSW, Rainfall Trace

Overcast to start with a light shower early before sunny spells broke through. The rest of the day was mostly cloudy and hazy with sunny spells which became more frequent by late-afternoon.

The maximum temp of 30.8C was the second warmest July max in 42 years of records and the joint 4th warmest of any month.

Currently 24.6C and mostly cloudy.
