High cloud now putting a break on the temperures

As already noted the thick high level cloud put a plug on the rising temperatures. A few breaks in the afternoon allowed some surges in the temperature however cooler than it probably would have been

A few spits of rain overnight leaving a very warm cloudy morning before the sun arrived giving a hot afternoon,max 29 deg

We peaked at 29.6C thankfully the cloud saved us from a more serious roasting

Overcast to start with a light shower early before sunny spells broke through. The rest of the day was mostly cloudy and hazy with sunny spells which became more frequent by late-afternoon.

The maximum temp of 30.8C was the second warmest July max in 42 years of records and the joint 4th warmest of any month.

Currently 24.6C and mostly cloudy.
