Do the hottest recordings generally happen between 3pm and 5pm?

I read that about 3pm is considered the hottest point of the day 🙂  I think someone will record 38 but not over the english record of 38.7c today, it will tomorrow got sure by a few degrees

Lots of 35/36c and odd 37c popping up on wunderground website in Yorkshire could be the place to break the record today…

One or two amateur weather stations reporting 40C and even 41C to the SE of Cambridge. Probably the area to watch. Would be interesting to see the record broken again at the Botanical Gardens!

The Buxton record has been broken just now, 32.1'c and still climbing. The previous highest recorded temp before today was 31.9'c in July 2019.

My station has dropped from 35.9C to 32.3C in the past hour. I guess due to cloud cover but this doesn't look too heavy to me.

It might have got to around 36c here, but the local weather stations only rose by 0.5c in the last hour so looks like the forecast high of 36c was pretty spot on.

Slowing down a lot now and at 36.3 (humidity not calibrated), quite a few clouds bubbled up in the last 30 mins

It's due to colour blindness, old maps don't work so well according to the met office.

I see a new Welsh record.

Also 36.5c puts us into the top 10 hottest days ever.

East Anglia looks to me to be the region to watch, clearest skies for longest and a big overland fetch to the wind.

Hawarden a possible exception due to the foehn effect, could yet see todays highest temp.

It’s got to be the hottest day on record here now. 33c at Mount Batten but down in Plymstock it’s 34.1c at my parents.

What's the peak in Scotland? It looks like today will be hotter than tomorrow in the west...
