Will we get a summer storm?(the clock is ticking)

As we enter August next week, realistically we have about a month to 6 weeks at most for decent widespread thunderstorms.

The recent hot spell produced nothing, apart from a couple of short showers. Looks like another summer without any major storms, unless August provides the goods.

I expect at least 1 in August, maybe more in September if it turns troughy with warm air still in place.

The clock is ticking? Still a third of the summer to go yet plus September. There was a good deal of warm muggy weather in September last year that produced one or two storms.

Had 3 in May, 1 in June and 1 in July.

Lucky you. We had one evening storm in mid May, then another string of daytime storms on May 24th, which is my birthday.

A few stop-start showers and thunder, then some warm sunshine, and rinse and repeat.

However, there’s been nothing since then.
