Stormy seas at the coast today which is exciting to watch

Sorry about the turning in one of the videos, it turned whilst i was recording so i thought it would do the same when the video ended but seemed to have not ☹️ Also excuse the noise i made in the second video as i thought i was about to be hit by a wave 😅

Had some hail here as well. It woke me up around 3am, as it was pinging off of the window.

an hour ago our main line got a call and it was the Kent environmental agency telling us of a flood emergency close to our area, haven't had one of those for a long time but I don't doubt it with the amount of rain we had this morning and early evening

We’ll probably even end up needing boats at some point should these wet, stormy and showery conditions continue (which the models show looks very likely bar the odd brighter day or two)

In some ways, it’ll be nice for a drier spell to develop soon at some point as, although storms are cool and all particularly of the thundery kind, the general wet, grey, conditions gets too much after a while.

According to Metro UK, people in Mitcham, S London were left shaken by a lightning bolt 'six times more powerful than usual'

It was Wednesday evening just gone. Not sure on the exact time

Just had some thunder here in the last hour.

I didn't expect that.

The power even wen't out for a few seconds and considering the thunderstorm was in the distance, that particular thunder after it happened had a loud boom sound which means it must have been quite a powerful cloud-ground strike. Especially since it made our power go out for a few seconds.

Well, according to the ESWD there could have possibly been a significant tornado near Derby today. Preliminary rating is F2, and looking at the radar at that current time there does look like something happened just north of Derby around the time estimated here.

Morning all.

On way to work in this torrential rain and radar watching, Passenger not driver.

Noticed this on the back edge of the front as it passed over Dorset, imbedded  hook echo? 

Anyone got higher res. Radar image or local wind data. 

 

Probably wishful thinking on my part

Just had one of the heaviest hail showers ive ever seen, few flashes of lightning too in Barry, was just driving home from Newport where there was some thunder and lightning and hail also. Once I got to Barry though the hail was around pea size but sounded like it was going to break the windscreen 😂. Was very good to see!
