A weather prediction from December 1920 for....2006

ROFL...didn't go well....  Not sure why Hugh Clements compared 1920 with 1740 given that for the CET, it was 2.7°C warmer than 1740 but given what he said at the meeting, he sounds a bit wacky. Sound familiar to someone of the present day?

The irony here is that 1740 is the coldest year in the CET listing and 2006 is the warmest......it was diametrically the opposite! 

The next severe winter was actually 1928-29 and 1951-52, 1952-53 were not severe winters
