    A clear mild night, leading to a clear hot sunny day. Perfect August weather, with very clear spells. Just watch August should be in the London and Southern region.

    Such an improvement on last years horror show of gloomy days on end of cloud and coolish temps.

    A sunny start to the day then clouding over from around 0915 until 1230 g.m.t. After that the cloud dispersed and it became mainly sunny. A warmer day than yesterday but still a cooling, moderate NW breeze.

    • Wet March so far with more rain for the rest of the month, but hints of more settled weather early April

      It's been a wet March for much of the UK, with well above average rainfall, though the Northern & Western Isles have been drier than average. Despite a colder drier respite on Monday, staying generally unsettled to see out the rest of the month. But hints of some drier weather in early April. Read the full update here
