Historic daily temperature records

Hi
Is there a (free) site anywhere where i can view the daily temperatures since about 1970 please?
Im doing some research into the rising temperatures, and am looking for how many times the UK has got over 30c and how high its got too....

I have this bookmarked, under the perhaps fanciful thought that one day I'll make an explorable weather records site. Until such a day, would you be able to use the raw data?

ive got the info, i cheekily emailed roger brugge... and it worked!

I've been using a site called Meteostat for this, hopefully no one's going to tell me it's poor data or anything
