There’s a feeling in the air that something colder is coming this time, with the abrupt cool off taking place.

I wouldn’t mind a week or even just a few days of snowfall with a month or more of cold sunny clear days scattered across the December to February period.

This would certainly make winter more bearable,  but the darkness is the thing that gets me down.

Already in a jumper.  Apparently 18°C but that wind chill is probably closer to 13°C 🥶

A ‘high’ of 13°C here with heavy showers. Interesting in a way but vile for September

Time to resurrect this thread, now it's November and getting colder. I have multiple neuropathies and I find that below temps of 10°C my hands get ice cold which is not good. That's why I personally hate anything below 10°C outside at any time.

Try being outside when its -45c..its already colder here than it will probably likely ever get all winter in the UK -15c tonight and its only Nov 2nd

Horrible this morning even though it was only around 8C first thing- there was a nasty wind chill in the air and a damp feel. First time I've really felt that for 7 or 8 months. As much as I've tried to appreciate the cold more over the years- I still can't understand why some enjoy it.

No thanks.... with my condition I can't tolerate below 10°C easily so I'm not likely to go anywhere colder than this in winter. Ideally I'll live somewhere where it's +15°C average daytime temperatures in winter......

Obviously there are going to be exceptions, but in my own personal experience in both online and in real life, those who hate cold and snow tend to be of the older generation (50+). Which I suppose is understandable seeing as you had to go through it without much of the amenities we have today (central heating, double glazing etc). Plus the fact that winters were colder back then. Some may argue that going through harsher conditions would have toughened you up, but it could also be argued that it would have made you really detest it.

I hate those crisp clear days with sub zero temps and strong, icy winds. Anything else I can put up with as it doesn't really set asthma off....

Too cold for me today. What rubbish weather, dark cold and drizzling. With my heating on it's still only reaching 16 degrees inside and costing a fortune with it.
