Absolutely horrific pics and vids coming in being posted, As interesting as it is being a weather enthusiast. Much dignity while watching.. As I'm sure you all have without a shadow of a doubt.

I have a really bad feeling about this too. There just seem to be too many people glamourising experiencing in a hurricane, I'm guessing others who didn't or couldn't get out. This looks like being the one they shouldn't stuck around for.

The guy is nuts or incredibly brave...however looking at it with headphones does give you an idea of how terrifying this raw power of nature is...you feel that you are almost there. Almost surreal watching the overhead fans normally used to cool things down being spun round by the wind.

Thats why it was so important for people to evacuate when told...just hope that the devastation is not as bad as predicted, however I fear that it will...

Couple of surgecams still alive..

Just incredible watching this...cam7 Venice fishing pier still.under attack from these vicious winds...as the storm is reported to only be moving ne at 8mph now it means these areas are getting battered for longer...also the sustained nature of the wind ...just a continuous blast going on for hour after hour...those palm.trees must have reinforced trunks...

Horrific scenes. I dread to think what we'll wake up to.

Being a storm enthusiast is such a conundrum. Getting a kick out of extreme weather and the sheer force or nature but at the same time knowing the devastation it causes.

Insane winds in Punta Gorda right now, following the calm of the eye. Much worse than the forward eyewall.
