I'll go for 4.5 and 109mm, thanks.

Close to the 1981-2010 mean, but a little above (because both 1981 and 2010 would drag the mean down; would be interesting to see the 1982-2009 mean) and slightly wetter than average due to deep lows to our southwest (which seem to be a feature on many model runs at the moment). The south wetter than the north overall.

3.8c and 50mm please 🙂

Looks like there's some cold coming but ought to be cautious still I reckon!

When the comp is closed can you take a average of all the estimates (CET and rainfall) and post that please?

It'll be interesting to see if the average of all the estimates are near the measured values....

A cold December ahead I reckon I'll go with 1.8c and 56.5mm we haven't had any December CET at 1. Something if I'm reading this right so there we go.

5.3 and 112 mm will be my entry ... edited in after Coldest Winter's post below ... have now removed preliminary table of forecasts from this post.

 ... to answer a couple of questions posted in recent posts above,

(a) we always post a table of forecasts with consensus values (of forecasters, not normals) shown, based on median rather than average but there's usually very little difference, and in the past forecast year our consensus did relatively well compared to forecaster scores although a few managed to do better;

(b) there have not been any December CET values of 1.x in the recent decades where the opening post lists all those values (1981 to 2021) but before that there were some. The most recent of them is 1.8 (both 1962 and 1976), and 1950 had 1.2. There were others further back in the CET records.

Think you've got that the wrong way round and should be 3.5C?? 😜

Will post my guesses later but really not sure!
