-1.4C, clear skies, but can see some clouds out to the West. Frost will likely have disappeared by first light tomorrow.

Just had a glance at the fax charts, showing fronts not making much in roads- followed by high establishing.

To my beady eyes there's nothing particularily mild on the way. I wouldn't say 7c is all that mild especially if under cloud and if there's a breeze. That's the best we'll do it would seem in the east of the region this week. Most days ranging between 3 and 6c. Last winter we had quite a lot of days in double figures especially in December and February and in those months barely a frost! Back to this year and nice to see practically the whole of Europe under the blues instead of the greens and yellows. Doesn't happen too often these days! Just need the deeper cold and we'd be in business.

Snow and ice still sticking around in shaded spots here. Driving across Woore and towards Newcastle today, I was surprised how much lying snow was still on fields! A fairly impressive spell out in the country side areas of here.

A bit chilly outside with it being -1.2'c already and still dropping but with the clear evening skies it was easy to spot Venus & Saturn close together before they set, along with a bright mag -2.8 ISS pass (the first of this 2-week transit window.) The forecast is for more cloud into the week beginning tomorrow although it doesn't look like temps are going to be anywhere near 'mild' with the cold holding on until Wednesday.

Latest I saw was temperatures rising from tomorrow and 10C in places on Wednesday before falling back a bit. Nothing exceptional this week in the way of precipitation or sunshine and no frost or ice in the forecast, in other words a bit of a non-week ahead in terms of weather!

Roast duck breast and orange sauce (canard is everywhere here and hardly eaten any) and popped to local bakers for first time in a month for a baguette 🥖, as you do, and picked up delicious chocolate tart…

sunny here but max only 1c after -5c last night, beautiful sunset and -2c currently… meant to be -6c tonight 🥶 🌫️ 😶🌫️

Anyone know why there's a bright flickering star to the South?

Is it Vega?

I know that flickers a lot when we can see it here

Likely it'll be Sirius which is notable for 'UFO reports' during this time of year 😜 there's also Rigel which is nearby too, but it's not as bright or pronounced.

Nearly -2°C here but it's really windy so don't think it'll freeze...

Just been out hunting for our kitten in the woods (I'm shouting for him and he's sat in the kitchen obviously) 😂

The back garden is still solid and some of the greenhouse is still frozen...

-2c feeling colder than last night actually. A cold cloudier day tomorrow maybe with some fog and then a close to average week. Wouldn't be surprised at a mild or very mild start at least to Feb and then a cold March/ delayed Spring that nobody really desires.

If we see snow fall from it then I'm not going to moan.

Yes, true and even when they are 'repaired', the same ones seem to open up again after a short period of time. It's a nightmare trying to avoid them when it's dark.

A low of -2.5C overnight reached at 04:00 but has been rising since, currently -1.2 and cloudy.

Maybe it’s just up here or my eyes but the dawn is a really weird pink colour this morning.

If we see something similar to Late Feb/ March 2018 then great 👍❄️🥶 March 2013 was painful locally though just cold greyness with a few snow grains on the wind whilst the Welsh Hills/ Wrexham way got buried 😄🤦🏻‍♂️
