No idea what the temp is here, my weather station got fried in the summer and broke. Everything is frozen solid, that will have to do as observations go.

Thick freezing fog earlier in the night before turning clear and very cold. The last few hours have seen sunny spells and light snow flurries, leaving a slight but 100% cover - the first of 2022. The min temp overnight of -6.4C was the lowest of any day here since 17th January 2013. We also just managed a second consecutive ice day for only the 6th time in 42 years. The max temp was -0.4C at 0900.

Currently -0.4C with light snow flurries.

Well, finally got above 0.0 C just now; that is from 1530 on Sunday 11/12/22, to include 2 Ice Days. Not looked at my stats but I do not think in 25 years obs that I have gone as long as this before.

Same here John. It has just risen above freezing so that's 71 hours below for us. That's the longest spell since January 1987 here.

December 2010 almost managed it. It was below freezing from approximately 6pm on the 16th to 9am on the 22nd, however it increased above freezing for around an hour on the afternoon of the 19th, maxing out at 0.2C. If that hadnt happened, it would have been 135 consecutive hours below freezing.

Currently sunny with a temp of 0.4C.

Well! my memory really does let me down.

I've just checked December 2010 and FIVE consecutive Ice Days + 1 in November 2010; also I had made a note that December 1981 also had 5, not sure if they were consecutive at RAF Finningley.

So I would imagine, if I had the time and patience, checking  the Fy data 1943-1995 that the winters of 62-3 and possibly 47 might also have consecutive Ice Days, along WITH iCE Days in other winters.

How did you get on in February 1986 because i think that beats any spell here since 1963.

My Grandfather was stationed at Finningley after the war and my Mother was born there.
