Roof Collapse at Belvidere, IL Apollo Theatre during a metal music gig (Morbid Angel, Revocation, Goatwh.re) with a 'mass casualty' event ongoing. And up to 600 injured in Little Rock during the day's earlier Tornado.

I have to say while watching 3 live feeds simultaneously until nearly 2am I feared a catastrophic injury/fatality count when I woke up, while injuries are high thankfully at the moment fatalities seem relatively limited which is a minor miracle given some of the footage and apparent lack of people staying off roads etc.

Tuesday in the Midwest ! Holy Smokes !! The HRRR 06z seems to be on steroids around 22z with Curved Hodographs, upper echelon significant tornado parameters and mental cape values >4500. The SPC have already issued an outlook with a large moderate risk and they will be changing it later. To my eyes this looks like a high risk event if the Cap breaks but for now it’s a waiting game ⏱️

Completely agree with you, latest 12z HRRR is pretty insane. Not many storms firing but the ones that do have an extremely high end environment to work with. Probably looking at 1-4 supercells firing in NE Missouri and move into N Illinois, if they can get rooted and overcome that cap then they are gonna be 100% trouble makers. Still a day out but an insane, high end environment. The amount of CAPE for early April is just crazy.

Global heating has been seen as the cause for these damaging storms, which are expected to increase significantly this century
