I think it will be a fairly quiet month for the most part with high pressure close by bringing anticyclonic gloom and relatively mild conditions. Though the last few days will be cold, sunny and frosty, much like the cold spell we had in December.

Overall 6.2°C and 52mm.

Unfortunately it looks like i'll be revising upwards now (both competitions), to what i haven't decided, still far from writing off Feb as a whole but if any significant cold does occur, it's likely to be so late it wouldn't rescue the CET to below average, unless either the zonal first part is cold zonal (signposted on a small but significant cluster) and / or a ferociously cold last week / 10 days for late feb.

A repeat of 2020 would certainly be a disaster, in just about every way. A month with no saving graces whatsoever - after five wet months before it, we certainly didn't need the rainfall! And Feb 2020 was, IIRC, completely dominated by frontal rainfall, too - it didn't even have the out-of-season convective action that 2014 did at times. The worst winter month of any name for me - beating even December 2015.

I'd take a 2020 repeat (obviously without the covid!) if it meant having an incredible period of spring weather again!  Soooo sunny!

6.1c & 57mm…1st half is just mild but the second half is still not totally decided…could be brrr …Mmmm🤔

But my guess is going a whole 1c above the 30 year average….we’ll see 🫣

3.2C and 33mm.

Anticyclonic to start, then maybe some easterly influence. Perhaps not a full on beast, but something in the way of cold and snow at the end

A very dry month

Are you allowed to change your guess? If so then I revise upwards to 4.7, and stay 33mm

Note to self, wait until the very end of the month before guessing 😃

6.9c 68 mm.

Another write-off for February regarding cold and snow. The endless crud of Jan and Feb as winter months continues just regard them as spring month in temperature!
