Not looked at the models or been on here in the last 3 weeks, so have no idea how next month will pan out whatsoever 😅. My guess will be for a cool(ish) start, perhaps some colder weather with snow towards mid-February. And then warming up a lot into last third of the month where it could feel very March or April-esque for a time accompanied by lots of sunshine.

A CET of 6*C and 65mm rain/snow please. Tar!

Highly likely the mildest of the three winter months on the cards, but not necessarily mild throughout, could produce another cold spell at some point, but the PV to the NW looking strong for much of the month and will make experiencing a colder phase more difficult.

A notably mild start, just as we saw with January.

There is possibility we may see something colder and settled by month end, as the PV relents.

Would like to go for something much lower, but am expecting a comfortably above average month tempered by some cold at some point, 5.6 degrees.

I'm seeing signs pressure will rise towards Benelux/Denmark shortly after the month begins, and it's never a long journey between mild SWlies and a cool continental influence when that happens. So I'm going to be a bit braver and go 5.3.

don't know whether to bring mine back down a touch after the 0z's now.

Was thinking the same, then I remembered Feb 2021 and stuck with it 😄

I was prepared to go against my usual methods and analogues when it looked like we had a very agressive MJO and strat forecast but that has gone away somewhat and I have gained control of my senses.

I see some potential for blocking over Scandinavia but probably sinking into central Europe.

Why do these changes often happen at the turn of the month. 😃

Does one go with the heart or the brain...

4.5c
52mm

Looks like the heart, when will I ever learn, mind you its not that much below average.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
