A dry and clear night until around 0300 when thick fog developed. Thick fog so far this morning but with occasional glimpses of blue sky above it.

Another cloudy and dry night. No change this morning. The cloud thinned and cleared late morning. The afternoon mainly sunny and quite mild.

The fog cleared overhead by 0930 and since then it's been sunny but the horizontal visibility remained between 400 and 1000yds until midday despite the sunshine. All the fog eventually cleared between midday and 1230 but it's still misty in the valleys and the current temp' is 6.3c, around 6c cooler than Buxton 18 miles to the north, despite continuous sunshine and almost cloudless skies.
