Photos of the comet are flooding in from twitter. It’s now bright enough to be seen properly on single exposures.

Hopefully it's not confirmation bias but after going through all of yesterday morning's pics (78 in total whilst aiming for a timelapse) i've think i've now found Atlas A3 after a little contrast tweaking on Lightroom. Finding it sure was difficult with the structure blending in almost perfectly amongst the low haze and twilight colours. (28/09 06:05 - NikonZ7 f/9 2.5s ISO320 165mm.)

This was looking offset East from Rushup Edge and out over the Hope Valley towards the Grindleford area.

Forward scattering does look to be kicking in, may be brighter than mag 1 by 3rd or 4th so could still be worth seeing it in early morning as the tail will be pretty long

The comet is now brighter than Neowise ever was and has (unofficially) just reached reached the minus magnitudes although no observations can be made as it’s too close to the sun.

The Tall Weatherman That's a pretty cool video, looking forward to seeing the processed video.

A few more days to go and we should start to see it make an appearance in the early evening sky, I just hope it doesn't dim too quickly.

The main comet left the frame a day and a bit ago. This tail is astronomically long.

After attempting to find it in the morning sky a couple of weeks ago and failing miserably. Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS is now visible in the evening sky 🥳

It should only get better over the coming days. Hopefully the weather plays ball

Missed the comet tonight sadly. Well done to everyone who got it. As for the weather till the 18th of October, terrible cloud set to ruin most nights and make this comet rather poor.

The Tall Weatherman thanks, I was just about to give up thinking it was going to be too difficult to see, then all of a sudden I found it shining away quite brightly, you could also see it with the naked eye, but it was getting quite low by then and heading behind the cloud, bodes well for the coming days.

1922 BST, 1927 BST, 1928 BST and 1930 BST yesterday

It was easily visible to the naked eye once I managed to find it on the live view of my D7500 and looked up! 7x50s showed a nice condensed nucleus and a defined tail

Now I know why I couldn't see the comet Saturday evening, it was behind Jamie M 🤔

In fact it was higher than I thought and would of waited until it was darker, but just after this photo clouds came over. Heavy crop from 55 mm. Couldn't see it naked eye.

The weather is looking a bit 'blegh' this week although the MetO cloud forecast is suggesting Thursday might be the best opportunity for clearer skies across the majority of the UK, it's all a bit chop-change at the moment with each run producing different results so it might just be a case of nowcasting and heading out to the nearest vantagepoint looking West.

MetOffice has it overcast around the Cat+Fiddle at 6-7pm tonight whilst 'Clear Outside' has it down for just a 35% cloud cover.

There's hills and trees to the west here which means I'm probably going to struggle to see this. That was the great thing about NEOWISE, it was to the north and visible well after sunset.

Perhaps N Ireland Southern Scotland, and NE England have a chance this evening for the Comet.

 Southern Storm Thanks Scott

Low in the western early evening sky has been a Comet promising special views just after sunset. The UK cloud cover is annoying but there are gaps.

Talk about it being the "comet of the century" going around the media/twitter  is a little bit laughable. Comet McNaught is probably the comet of this century so far, this easily outclassed this current comet. It was unfortunate that it was a largely southern hemisphere comet but even up here it was possible to see it before it went south.

I hope another "Hale-Bopp" comet comes along soon or at least one where its orbit favours the northern hemisphere.

WOW 🤩 The comet looks wonderful on the photos with a huge tail and an anti-tail.

A shame we’re missing this.
