Maybe it's a software/firmware version problem that some got alerts and some didn't especially older phones?

Well I've just found it on my phone, but I think it's an American version lol, has anyone else got amber alerts for child abduction as an option?

I've had to turn the sound on, do must have automatically been off, I wouldn't have noticed vibrate which was on, as was in town shopping. I've got three different types of alert.

That’s about the only thing the government has acted early on, 14.59 instead of 15.00!

Since it appears there have been some problems with the roll out, I wonder what they'll do next? It's not like they can keep doing test sends to see if it's been fixed.

You'll probably find they will, at an announced time, like this one. Think mine might have vibrated, but I'm not one hundred percent sure, it should have gone off, but although alarm was on sound was off, and no one else in this house has amber alerts for missing kids on there's. Thinking mine came on the phone ages ago, is alba, American/Canadian, I don't even know. Last update was in 2020, checked everything lol.

My phone had the alert at least a minute early. I found it a bit underwhelming really. Probably because I was watching my phone waiting for it. Hubbies went off at the scheduled time.

I'm not against it, although if it's like the forecast for snow I would be sceptical that whatever the warning was, would actually happen.

My Samsung phone Virgin media  (O2 I think), went off at 3.06.

Wife's IPAD never moved as also her Motorola (O2 I  think).

Pretty much a non-event, even when it went off.

Wondered whether the various networks staggered (Or were spaced out automaticaaly) for network reasons?

Come to think of it, I have got phone over Wifi turned on - so there would have been some intervention by the supplier to balance the network load.

MIA

Neither me or my missus got ours, both on Three so no surprise although daughter is also on Three but got hers.

both are newish phones and all settings were correct so it looks like I’ll have to wait for an update from sky news that the bomb has dropped rather than HMG.
