Have heard a few reports of thunder in the area at around that time, so no I don't think you were dreaming! I just had very heavy rain - but Horsham got a tornado! (see the storms and ex weather forum area)

Colleagues at work from Slough and Windsor confirmed the Thunder this morning. Two very loud rumbles

We in Portsmouth had a thunderstorm pass over our location at around about 3am and there were lots of very heavy down poors through out the night.

definitely 2 extremely loud rumbles of thunder around 6 this morning here in surrey, woke me up!! and the rain wow :shock:

Extremely heavy rain and gusting winds this morning in east Kent. Plus i've seen a report on NW that suggest there was also some thunder mixed in aswell.
