Yes, perfect autumn day today, really nice. Nippy first and last thing, nice sun during the day, but no silly heat. These are the autumn days that I love...it feels as though they've been in short supply the last few years!

SollyOlly  I was surprised how low temps were this morning, 3.1c at 7:30am and blue crispy skies …🤗

Certainly makes a lovely change from all this ruddy rain we’ve been having 😉

Dancerwithwings Doesn't it just! But 'normal' (wet!) service to be resumed soon I hear...? Sadly, those types of forecast rarely fail or flip at the last second!

It was nippy...I'd left the bedroom window ajar by mistake, and when the cat woke me up (!!) at around 0500hrs, it was bloomin cold! Still, the cat did at least then snuggle down with me, keeping me warm in the process!

SollyOlly  I keep my windows firmly shut mate, just in case the Wife decides to have the same ideas in what your cat decided to do….🤣

Last recent snow event i'll cover for the time being that took place mainly in central areas. I haven't had a deeper snow depth than the 7cm in March 2023 since!

Lovely the last 2 days....

Last night I recorded a very low 0.7C at 6:30 before low cloud crept in.

Arctic Hare I agree the Met Office seems to have lost the plot in recent months.  Their app requests accuracy feedback and I don't hold back 🙂. Both temperature expectations and rainfall are way off and I don't even bother to look at the long range forecast because they can't even get the current day right 😅

SollyOlly  SollyOlly Aw bless. My cat would do the same if he was allowed in the room but he isn't 😁.

 matty40s

I’ve had bright sunny skies today, same as your skies really 17c

The radar recently had plenty of activity West of Brum, totally miss me 🥳🥳🥳

Tomorrow’s activity is forecasted to be more widespread though ☔☔

Then a cold northerly coming for Thursday into the weekend….Brrrr!!! 😁

Heavy rains over me and a large chunk of our region atm ☔☔☔️…12.9c

Edit ….This is just a slight drizzle compared to what’s about to hit Florida regarding Hurricane Milton 😳😳😳

yep went to collect the grandkids from school at 15.20 in Knowle and it hasn't stopped since .

DWW - I've had a problem with my raingauge and it has just recorded 9.7mms since.

I had to clear out the gunge from the tipping buckets.

Can you confirm for m?

It seems quite a lot!!!!

 Midlands Ice Age

No problem….since midnight….at 17:45, I’m currently at 12.4mm 👍

edit…I haven’t done anything to mine since it was erected from new….so methinks this forthcoming weekend is time to do a little maintenance, I might even change the batteries for new 🤗

DWW..

Yep thanks - mine is about correct as I recorded 1.8mms overnight.

MIne now is about 15 years old and I get spiders and all sorts of gunge in it. Its my second service. the batteries in mine are for the whole unit and they last about 3 years.

Plus I use my golf clubs readings

Some cracking rainbows on the commute home, couldn't really get a picture that justified how vivid they were.

Same here….spec sheet states 3 years, and my battery status is reading healthy 🔋

But Im sure it doesn’t do any harm, because after a couple of years I worry about battery leaks and I’m one for using a small amount of Vaseline over the - + contacts, just to disperse any moisture's

Anyway ….If I find a tarantula in mine….I’ll throw it your way MIA 🤣🤭

DWW

I'm only at 10.8mms, as it stopped for about an hour here, and I can see clear skies to the west....

However took grandkids home at 18.30 and in Knowle it never stopped hammering it down. So I think my recorder is OK again now.

PS raining again here now.

Not too worry, it isn’t you, as I noticed earlier West of Solihull central there wasn’t much action, but I’m East of that and it was a fine line as it was over me but not you

But yes atm we are both under it ☔☔☔️ with more to come
