Eye to the sky You'll be fine I'm sure, anywhere N of Leicester should get a good dusting. It's anywhere south of Leicester that it starts to become dubious.

sheikhy man, this is getting exciting now...it feels close! I am reconciled to waking to nothing but cold rain, of course (years of experience...!!). But at least we're still in the game even as the skies start to darken...!

I'm still not sure which way this will go. I've got a feeling that it's going to be a knife edge thing. Anywhere Nottingham Northwards with some elevation should do well. Not sure about Leicester at the moment. May even come down to North Leicestershire, like Coalville ans Loughborough getting a decent amount, while South Leicestershire like Market Harborough might not get much. Could be that close.

I hope the ECM is right but there is still a lot of disagreement in the models at the moment. I think it's a nowcasting situation.

SollyOlly Dew points are just to high for snow. We might catch some back end snow as the cold air digs in. We will know in a few hours. And then it's on to Thursday low lol 😆

sheikhy Yh would bring around 10 hours of snow and looking at the radar its much bigger and arcing more SE wich puts in in line with the ECM. Its nowhere near the GFS track.

Don’t see my neck of the woods (Birmingham) getting anything from this except puddles and if lucky a few sleety flakes tomorrow morning. Places to be IMO are the likes of the Peak District, and  northern parts of the East Mids. Places like Matlock should do well I reckon.

Still 5c here with similar dew points so can’t see that dropping sufficiently to allow snow to fall & settle in next 12-18 hours.

Severe Siberian icy blast Ah yes, but why does the GFS just fizzle out where as the ICON/Arpege & Harmonie increase precipitation into tomorrow morning?

SnowSquall We can see clearly now the GFS is wrong this time from looking at the radar it's already split and way more PPN very akin to ECM

Good thing it will hit at nite so ground should have cooled by then if it does turn.

also just noticed when i started the walk it was reasonable wet, overnight rain, but its dried out alot now, if it continues like this then it might be a snow event from the start !! no pre rain ?
