Well certainly looks like a very mild few days ahead before things turn more seasonal.....how it unfolds is till up for grabs and I would suggest we will need to wait after the weekend to get a firm hand on festive weather. I will be driving home on the 22nd from Essex...that could be an adventure looking at some other f the outputs. Merry Xmas !

Been mostly cloudy here today with a few breaks and colder than forecast with a max of 5.5C and a min of 1.5C. A touch of grass frost first thing which will be last for some time I think.

Well, what a cracker yesterday was! Woke to gorgeous white frosted grass, and the temp didn't get above 2.3c all day. Until the eveing, off course. Then this morning it showed 6.3c on my weather station. You couldn't make it up! Been a horrible day here, horizontal showers etc, and it looks like we'll be in for more of the same over the next few days. Am off noo tae sulk in a corner! 🙄

The Big Day itself looks like a wash-out at the mo. Might be a boat for Santa rather than a sleigh.

Yeah charts look horrible compared to yesterday's, as is always the case.

Far too early to tell.

Yes all change from yesterday..no 22nd Dec winter storm and Azores high coming more into play giving a more westerly flow, as it always seems to happen. But we have seen the models chop and change so personally not calling it a mild Xmas till after viewing models on Monday.

I've been trying to keep away from the daft thread as the last time I looked in they were getting a bit tightly wound...its hilarious they fall for the same thing every year.

We're still too far away for a reliable forecast, this time next week should give a better idea...still it would be nice if it snowed.

It's very easy to get carried away with each model run...and there a few in the mad house that like to bait others.  Fun viewing tho

I'd say it's 50:50 for a noteably windy period at the end of next week, beyond that is anyones guess.

Just a shame it's a potential warming on the other side of the planet Big Gally!

Still, I do very well out of strong showery cold NW'lys that crushed PV might just deliver that... And I think Glasgow does too!

Hopefully we see something round the 22nd! Looks like it’s trying to push down we will see! Or just wishful thinking!

I said in the mad house this morning I think the models are reverting back slightly ok not great but definitely signs here on the 12z?? I was told it’s never going to happen lol. The madhouse lost it after a few runs.

A mild start across the board. 11c here, 12.5c on the Moray coast.

Mild until Tuesday then turning cooler. Next weekend is not without interest at this stage!
