FRI: The Red Dawn Vanishes…

ECML-Route-Weather Watch

Welcome to my Blog, bringing you my weather observations through North East Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, North Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and into the City of York during my daily commute from Melton Mowbray, by car and train.

Friday 25th January 2008:

The Red Dawn Vanishes…

Mild and breezy in Melton Mowbray first thing this morning with a covering of high cloud. On departure from Grantham I could see a dramatic dawn was starting to break over the town. The clouds were a brilliant blood red and the disc of the sun was just starting to rise before the train ran into Peascliffe tunnel. However heading further north the cloud became a little thicker and prospect of watching dawn break faded.

On arrival into York this morning it is bright with high patchy cloud and mild temperatures.

The Weekend; Sunny spells and feeling mild; good weather for my birthday!
