Lowest recorded daytime maximum temperature in March -4.6c in Northern Scotland. Bet Sennybridge and several other stations beat that one tomorrow.

Showers all merged together into a nice band and headed straight for Swansea, giving the city centre a dusting. Outskirts of Swansea such as Llansamlet and Pontardawe have had a good covering surprisingly.

Porthcawl earlier, waves coming right over the seafront.A caravan blew over on the M4 near Port Talbot. Conditions are horrible on the M4 with drivers barely going above 40mph. The Welsh highways agency were slow to introduce speed restrictions despite the seriously dangerous conditions and it was only after this happened that the speed limit was dropped to 50/40/30MPH along the M4.

84mph just recorded on Mumbles head. Severn bridge now closed to all traffic, trees coming down everywhere.

Yeah it's terrible out there, I couldn't get very far. Post it wherever, I don't mind

So calm in Cardiff now that some areas have thick fog. Rain has been an enormous problem and now many roads are flooded and impassable.
-
What the hell? I go to a gig in Swansea at 7pm (5c) and get out at midnight and there's lying snow everywhere? Even back home in Mumbles by the seafront?
-
It's sleet in Mumbles, almost stopped completely. Absolutely nothing on ground now.
-
Yes its still snowing and its fairly heavy. It is settling on most surfaces including the roads, but we are relatively high here so I cant confirm whether its the same along the front. The air temp has been around 0.9c having been 2.2 c when the fun started.
Nothing sticking on the front in Mumbles, just a slushy mix on side roads. The earlier stuck snow has gone and snow is sleety.
Gower is absolutely blanketed
-
is there snow on Mumbles Road?
Nope, still hasnt really stuck along the main road even on the grass.
-
Snow stopped here but temperature has sharply dropped to 0.8c. Bedlam on the roads away from the sea, a car has overturned at Murton petrol station and there's a tailback to Mumbles Road.
-
got blowing snow here, 2cm now. Isit still snowing in the Mumbles?
Yes, and now sticking.
Chaos around Murton and Newton. Roads covered and shops closing
-
I went for a drive through Bishopston, which is a mile or so inland. Reached bishopston and decided conditions too bad to continue. On the way back through Murton just 10 minutes later the road had become virtually impassable.
I've never seen conditions deteriorate so rapidly.

VERY heavy snow now!
-
matt2324, Dunvant about 4 miles from Mumbles. 1cm already on roads, (gritted roads)
Ohh brilliant, i'm off for a drive over the common
-
odd, can barely see the top of the hills here, near whiteout and im not joking
Where abouts in Swansea are you Marcus?
-
Much bigger flakes here now. Not sticking, and I have a feeling it will struggle to here even if heavier
-
Snowing in Mumbles! 2.1c
-
Temperature dropping here, 2.0c now
