That was fantastic. Still the odd few strikes here. What a cracker!I could listen to the sound of thunder all day!
-
It sounded quite distant from here. Let's hope there's more than the radar is showing. It's wierd they're not showing up on the lightning detector. They must all be in-cloud strikes.
-
Haha I just heard that in the distance.Flash... deep rumble!
-
We're so close and I'm caffeined up to the eyeballs. *judders*28 miles south is now the closest strike. Come one!

Hopefully it'll tap in to some fresh energy when it reaches us.That storm near Wolverhampton seems to keep weakening and then strengthening. Hopefully it strenghtens for a while.

We really have. Hopefully a big shift North tonight and tomorrow. Some of the lightning pictures are brilliant.Cool, literally live near the Morrisons at the end of Broadway. Hoping for something tonight or tomorrow, Manchester's really missed out so far this year.
-
I'm just up the road from you in New Moston. Waiting and hoping that the trigger will bang here. Not too much has happened in the last twenty minutes, except for a strike near Portsmouth and a few more strikes in the Northampton storms.

Is Manchester in the firing line at all? I have drops in my eyes and Im struggling with charts,
-
I'm suprised at how mongooseing breezy it is in North Manchester.

This is actually quite terrifying. Even in North Manchester where we don't have the worst of the winds. My windows are rattling. Is this as bad as it's going to get?

Thanks very much. Really appreciated.the latest charts suggest very windy but not disastrously so for the north Manchester area along with a lot of rain. Perhaps you may find the Met O web site and their maps easier to understand. We all enjoy trying to predict the weather from the many charts available to us but they are the experts and are, as they should be, more often right than wrong. In spite of your visual imparment I hope you enjoy being on Net Wx-don't hesitate to ask questions there is always someone who will be happy to answer you.

I'm visually impaired and can't make out the fine lines on those charts. Could someone please tell me how Manchester is going to be affected please?
-
-
Could someone show me where I can see the buoy readings please? Getting windy in Manchester.
-
Storm has just passed North Manchester. Thunder was loud. We had a real crash banger out of it too. Can still hear it rumbling away.
-
Finally snowing in Manchester! We have a thin covering in North Manchester. You have to start somewhere I guess.
-
Unfortunately i havent seen any massive flakes yet and no sustained intensity.
Don't think it's going to last too long. Even now it sounds wet blowing against the window.
-
I'm in Failsworth and I think these are the biggest flakes I have ever seen.
-
Massive flash of lightning and big rumble of thunder in North Manchester!
-
So, this Manchester storm has been clipping my area for the past 10 minutes. Not one rumble and just a spot of rain. Just my luck!
-
Yet again Manchester is in the no warning zone. Not taking that as gospel though.
-
Looking at the radar cells are fireing just to the north of manchester in a line all the way up to newcastle. Isnt that where it is?
Makes sense. The sky is dark to my North and East and everything gets going as they move North of me. I'm so angry.
-
Well I just watched the clouds get darker as soon as they moved north of me. Frustrating. Is Manchester put of the running now?

You're just down the road from me. I'm in New Moston.
Here's hoping everyone who wants something gets lucky tomorrow!
