  1. Slightly disappointed with the measly half inch we had last night. Completely stopped now although snow is enticingly close in Chipping Norton and Witney but nothing much is making it past Banbury. No school closures in Northants so all kids off to school which has upset my son who was determined that from yesterdays forecast he would be spending the day sledging.....

  2. Just got home from Northampton where we'd been to the cinema in Sixfields. We sat in the carpark outside Pizza Hut and watched the storm develop - pink fork lightening was fantastic and the rain intense. The storm has followed us south through Daventry and is currently rumbling around overhead. Very stormy violent sky with a whisp of a moon - kids thought it was terrific! Glad I'm not in Cropredy tonight at the Fairport Convention! They must be soaked.

  3. Fantastic lightning show here in Aston le Walls - looking like it's over Daventry way. Fantastic sky and brilliant bright lightning. Distant rumbles - no, make that nearby rumbles and the occasional heavy downpour...very muggy still....I just LOVE thunderstorms!!

  4. Absolute white out here now. Just got back from sledging with the kids - snow very deep on the hills, we have a good 6 inches in the village though. Wind has got up too and is blowing it around. Temp in my back garden reads plus 1 and the icicles are dripping. A361 is very snowy, glad ! don't have to go anywhere today!unsure.gif

  5. Stopped snowing here now, we've had about 4 inches overnight and there is a very cold northerly blowing down the hill from Byfield. All schools closed, Radio Oxford report the M40 is blocked south of Banbury so hubby can't get to work in south Oxfordshire. Not sure if we're due any more here today but the kids have enough to go sledging so all in all we're pretty pleased. Off to see if I can clear some neighbours pathways - enjoy it everyone, stay safe!!drinks.gif

  6. Not. A. Single. Flake!

Kids soooo disheartened. Very starry clear night - temp at the moment -1.9 and yet barely a frost on the cars or grass. Very very windy though. Totally fed up. Grump.

South Toaday forecast has just said Banbury may get some later on but I wont hold my breath!
