  1. We had snow and sleet last night and then the same again this morning although mostly snow until the last 10 minutes, so hopefully the sky clears and cools as we have lost a couple of inches this weekend but still around 4" inch on the ground and there has now been snow cover for 11 days here cool.gif and i expect it to still be here when the cold spell returns.

They are aweome pictures from aberfeldy ohmy.gif

  2. So can someone clarify for me please...... has this cold spell to continue for the next couple of days and then warm up or could we be expecting it to last longer ?????

It just seems strange that any time i've seen snow it has lasted no longer than 5 days or so, and there is already about 8" lying here, with tommorrow being the 8th day of lying snow and there is still talk of more snow and more freezing temps, dry.gifblink.gifcold.gifshok.gifohmy.gifwacko.gif , im only 20 and have heard my dads stories of winters from the 70s/80s of really cold spells lasting a month at a time and it would be great to see it happen before this global warming kicks in.

Hopefully more snow on the way and it's a cool minus7 here just now cool.gif

  3. Snow has now passed to the east of here sad.gif but it must have dumped about 3" tonight so i cant complain drinks.gif , i reckon there is about 7" to 8" on the ground now which is by far the largest December snowfall of my life (im only 20) and i have only seen it deeper than this the one time back in the mid 90s.

I wonder what the shotts/harthill area is like would be good to hear if anyone knows.

Good luck to the north and the east for the snow tonight cool.gif

  4. we had heavy snow between 7 and 8 pm it stopped then at half 9 turned to very light rain. Its stopped now and not lost any snow cover by the looks of it. Skies clearing and temp was only at 1oc. Hopefully no more falls or it will be as rain here as well. But around 3" lying at the moment and hoping it will quick around a bit longer !

  5. Just new to the forums here so just an update on my area

About 2" lying here about half of that today. tonight the car thermometer in the car read -2 at five oclock down to -5 at seven oclock, not sure accurate they are though.

So hopefully im not to far from the west to catch a few showers tonight and tommorrow smile.gif

and could someone tell me what the dew point temperature thing means compared to the normal ?

thanks and hope you all catch a shower or two tonight smile.gif
