Hi TIETS
House roofs also showing signs of a thaw for a few minutes but now much heavier and laying on roads again.
Seem to be getting a layer under the heavier pulses with the lighter stuff very marginal.
Reckon we are about 40 mins behind you with the flow judging by drive home from Maskew Ave this evening
-
Seems to be thawing a bit on the car now but the trees look great. Flakes are small and are piling up on the branches
-
Much heavier now in Huntingdon, starting to stick to roads since it started around 6
-
Starting to thicken up here nicely, very much a lampost watching evening! I noticed the BBC have the snow moving away from us before midnight, clearing into Wales tomorrow. As seen exlusively on BBC East it is snowing nicely in Godmanchester now!

Still snowing In Godmanchester
Just watched a group of pub-leavers push a police car up the tiniest of slopes. Cars are really struggling to get traction away from the traffic lights I can see from my place
It feeels like the fronts have cleared us now
Flakes are bigger and less frequent suggesting the back-edge has passed
Fingers crossed for a few photo ops first thing tomorrow

SNIZZLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE HAVE SNIZZLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's about bloody time too.
That's how it started here at about 5pm!!
I thought I was seeing things at the time as was only out shopping
Still snowing (6 hours-ish now) but constantly building up and -1.
Not even sure if the main band has passed through yet, sort of lost track although the radars seem to be accelarating the fronts through W to E
-
Still tiny but many flakes in Godmanchester
Tyre tracks in the car-park are vanishing in about 20 mins. Is that about 1 and a 1/2 inches per hour?
Radar says biggest pules yet to come
None whatsoever, the wind is blustering about, but no sign of anything wintry yet.
We got he wind first, so good luck!
-
Faily small flakes in Godmanchester but is building up having been snowing on and off four five hours
It's more like heavy drizzle but is giving a good cover
Cannot tell roads from kerbs now and the traffic being diverted from the A14 for roadworks (which is normally busy) has vanished
Have enjoyed watching the seagulls and ducks slipping and sliding over the iced up River Ouse today, out of the window. Now watching the snow build up on the few ice-flows left after most melted during the day
Hoping to get some of TEITS' snow as I work in Peterborough all week. Why couldn't htat have happemned yesterday!
-
I had a look when I read your posts and a covering here in NR1 by the station
-
rich44. No radar is brilliant, they use cloud. They can help give a nowcast idea on what is around and what way it is evolving and moving
I allways think it is handy to track snow from reported locations and see where it is heading

pipsta
Had to nip out. Using my mobile so no links
Google buienradar it is dutch so shows the north sea
-
Scattered showers of snow popping up on extra radar. Scooting through Norfolk W-E relatively quick moving though. Two have hit Norwich in the last 45 mins
-
Convective shower just raced through here.
One minute it was clear and I was thinking of frosts, within 15 it was dark, heavy hail and tail end mix of hail snow
Temperature dropped 1.8 in 3 minutes from 4 to 2.2
They look to be popping up from nowhere
-
Just in to the leading edge of something here now. Sleet hail grauple mix, very dark cloud
Was expecting nothing today
Actually quite a short shower in the end but now actually snowing lightly
-
Jay W suggested 2-5cm tonight in EA bbc1 news at 1030 ish
-
Just arrived home from work after driving through 15 minutes of probably the heaviest snow I have ever seen
TWS must have got his sleigh out for this one!!
-
Sorry about that. Here's a pic I have just taken.
Just hit Norwich now. Is it still snowing there
Wow dark and heavy now with gusting wind and hail mixed in

Anyone got any thoughts as to why we are seeing temps of around 3.5c and drizzle when the uppers at the moment over East Anglia and the South East are between -8 - 10c?
I just spent 20 mins walking home from the pub. There is something sleety in the air here. It is barely drizzle and you cannot see it lampost watching, you need to walk in it to notice it. It's the coldest 3.5 (actually 3.4 here) I remember walking in with no wind to chill
Maybe the muck we have had above us since yesterday holds the temps up a bit?

From what I hear a very good Countryfile forecast for our region, will see it later....
Very good. Snow showers from tomorrow onwards to varying degrees of ppn but ALL week now showing potential
-
Rain with snowflakes, borderline, almost sleet but plain enough to see around the lamposts
-
Same here. It looks like one of those naff xmas cards you made at school and went mad with the cotton wool!
My broom is leaning against the wall under the gutter and it has got a 1cm snow balanced on the top of the handle. Washing line has the same
Looks like someone sprayed false snow for a movie shoot
LOcal news just said A14 and A47 both closed at some time this evening
I'll see how the snow is in the morning and take a look.
Ravine could be fun too
-
Hammering down now. Very low vis. Sticking readily. I just had a quick ciggy and came in looking like a snowman. Orange skies. Heaviest I've seen it this winter
NW Radar now updated to Beta 5. looks great
-
Has been some really beafy snow showers today - car and lawn got a covering but nothing like previous weeks. Heck, better than nowt for us snow lovers. And now the Meto warning too!
Radar showing steady stream starting to come in off the North Sea
